Daily Doubles on Rainbows

The rainbow trout bite out of Redding, California continues to produce big hard-fighting fish. The water level is dropping big time but the fish are still biting really consistently. With this week’s 100 degree days, the fish are super aggressive early in the morning and tapers off slightly as the day goes on.

Spotted Bass fishing on Shasta Lake!

It's awesome fishing lately with morning trips averaging 25 fish by 9 am! If you’re a bass fanatic it's definitely worth trying this lake out. The plastic worm bite is off the charts. Fish are on the banks and move a little dealer later in the day. Every arm on the lake is producing the same amount of fish.

Family Fishing on the Sacramento River

One of my favorite clients and his family fished on the Sacramento River today doing the traditional morning with double hookups within 15 minutes of fishing. Drifting Roe and casting spoons did the trick this morning with our biggest fish around 22 inches. We had 2O fish to the net but the 98 degree weather dropped the bite around noon. The fish were still biting but not as well early in the morning.

Big Browns on Shasta Lake

The bigger trout are starting to show up with numbers of fish in the double digits. There have been lots of planter fish from Shasta Dam to the McCloud Arm. The bigger, cleaner trout are much deeper. In the early morning, we caught some of the larger trout at 35 feet and Kokanee salmon are all in the 25 to 60ft range.

Rainbows on the Sacramento out of Redding

The water levels are dropping fast but these fish keep on biting! We have been using spin fishing with Roe clusters and Dick Nite spoons bait. The weather has cooled down to the high 70s making the bite go on all morning. Remember, Father's Day is around the corner we still have some open dates!

Shasta Brown Trout

Today, Dan and Jeff caught some nice fish including a big brown trout. Fishing around the mouth of the Sacramento Arm and Digger Bay are producing some decent size fish. There are bait balls showing up around these areas as well. The fish we are finding are anywhere from 35 feet to 85 feet later in the day deep. All Shad pattern lures are working. The McCloud arm past Hertz Bay has some Kokanee salmon as well.

Rainbow Trout fishing In Redding

The trout fishing the last few days has gotten a little tougher. If you fish hard in all your nooks and crannies it will happen and you will catch some nice rainbows. We fished down to Anderson and caught some really beautiful fish.

Big Rainbow Trout!

Another day of some big rainbows out of Redding, California. The average size was between 18 and 2O inches. The weather is warm so the bite has gotten a little tough. You have to work for them a little harder with low clear water.

Big Numbers of Bass on Shasta Lake

Spotted bass fishing on the lake is fantastic for large numbers of fish! Most days we are catching anywhere from 20 to 50 fish in the net and double hook ups are really common. Using plastic worms for bait has been the best bet with green pumpkin and orange craw being the best collars. The McCloud Arm and the Pit is the best to fish in.

Bass Fishing is Heating Up!!

We have been catching some big fish this week on Whiskeytown Lake throwing plastic worms and blades. The water level is to the very top, into the tree line and is also very clear. A light line is a must in these conditions.
